Union with God
Between the Desert and the Sown
Khalifa Nargis

A few words may be given to explain what is meant by "Union with God" although it is almost impossible to put a mystical idea into ordinary language; it does not mean that man is merged into something outside himself, or that he becomes nothing and no more functions as an individual.

If the Disciple has realized that the Kingdom of God is within and that the Christ is born in the human heart he will also realize that the mystical union with God must take place within the heart of man.

One of the most important things to be remembered is, that unity is not uniformity: there will always be quite distinct differences between those who have attained to this Union. Until man has thus attained there is within him a constant struggle as though there were two forces striving for possession: as long as this continues there can never be place or harmony in the life, the Peace of God can only be realized when within man's innermost being there is a unity of every part; and no part is striving or warring with another part; he is then as it were made whole and complete, Hu-Man; and wherever he goes will radiate Peace and Harmony, for in Unity is completeness.
